Mr. James Edward Thomas was born on October 16, 1949, to the late Norman Thomas Sr. and Linnie Thomas in Riverview, Alabama. He departed this life on December 28, 2021, at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, AL.
He confessed Christ at an early age under the leadership of, the late, Reverend Tom Davidson at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Riverview, Alabama. He enjoyed singing and was a member of the choir.
James attended Rehoboth High School in Fairfax, Alabama. As a draftee, he served in the United States Marine Corps in the Vietnam War. James was an active member of the local Veterans of Foreign War.
He was predeceased by his three sisters: Shirlene McCullough, Mary Stiggers and Betty Harper.
James is survived by his beloved son; Thomas Allen Allgood, Elyria, Ohio; four brothers: Norman Thomas Jr., Terry Thomas Sr., Dennis Thomas (Evelyn), and Roy Varner (all) of Valley, AL; two sisters: Rose Thomas & Sherby Avery both of Valley, AL; and a host of other relatives, family, and Friends.
