Mr. Billy Tolbert was born to the parentage of the late Jerry Lena Tye, and Mr. Willie  Jackson, Sr. on August 1, 1958 in LaFayette, Alabama. He departed this life peacefully on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at his home, surrounded by those who dearly love him.

He was a fighter to the end, a devoted family man and a friend to all who knew him. Billy was employed by many, his most recent employer was Newton Fur House, Cusseta, AL. He was a handy man over the valley area.

At the age of 10, Billy relocated from LaFayette, AL to Atlanta, GA where he continued his education in Atlanta public schools. While attending Carver High School. Billy, who was fondly known as Bilbo, excelled in baseball as a pitcher and had an opportunity to pursue professional baseball. Before completing his beloved Carver High School. Billy's introduction to the work force began as a student of carpentry . In those early years he soon discovered painting was a huge passion of his. After completing High School he entered and completed Construction and building trade school. He utilized those skills to extensively paint, remodel and build private homes and commercial properties throughout the United States. Billy had a strong work ethic and gained a reputation for his perfectionism and detail. His work always demonstrated excellence and quality. Billy greatly enjoyed viewing old western movies and sporting events, playing cards/dominoes and going fishing.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy Lewis, Roger and Dennis; sister, Jackie Faye Jackson Hutchinson and Lonnie.

Billy leaves to cherish precious memories : a devoted friend, Katherine Kipatrick of 25 years and caregiver of Atlanta, Ga.; eight brothers, Frank (Dorothy) Tolbert, Auburn, AL, Royce (Brenda) Tolbert and Yancey Tolbert, both of Atlanta, Ga., Mr. & Mrs. Patrick Jackson Swanson, Walter L. Jackson, Steven B. (Zina) Jackson, Wesley Jackson and Willie Jackson, Jr.; three sisters, Mary Carter, Valley, AL, Lillie (Robert) Bylthe, Battle Creek, MI and Ann Tolbert, Atlanta, Ga; two godcchildren, Pete and Shanteria; eight god-brandchildren, Tae, man-man, Quay, Aniyah, Josiah, Jaylen, Ayden and Aresha, all of Atlanta, Ga; a host of nieces, nepehws, many dear friends, June Carter, Nelson Huguley, Irvin Newton, Jr., Roger Smith, Mrs. Minnie Newton, Ms. Teresa Etherton, Bobby Newton, Greg & Beth Bonner, All Mond, Greg Harney, Robert Stevenson, Keith Printup, Spit, Spud, Marian Barker and Joyce Harris
